But 'praying' for one to die,

Reason- Maron actually played the clip where Falwell said some of the responsibility for 9/11 lies with the feminists, etc. Quite honestly, that's as devastating as one would need; hearing that clip, unless you were a hardcore Falwell supporter, you would have to be offended by the comments. And like I said, I have no problem with any kind of satire/attack/critique on most any level. But 'praying' for one to die, especially in its context since Maron is an atheist and was basically mocking God, which is indeed his business...I just think that Conservative strategists would have an easier time portraying Maron's 'prayer' as typical of leftist views (which is not the case in reality but perception is everything) than the Liberal strategists would in linking Falwell to mainstream conservatism.

Lord knows I am no Falwell defender by any means and never have been, and I felt this way long before the 9/11 comments. Yes we'd be better off if he lost his voice, but I don't pray that anyone would die (other than maybe Carrot Top, and even then that's pushing it).

LanD- Hendrie is my fave, but I must say Larson was probably the most entertaining. I first listened to him back in the summer of 1989 when I would drive home from my summer job, and I simply could not believe what I was hearing. To me, it wasn't just the 'exorcising' so much as his almost constant pleas for cash. He fit the stereotypical profile of the snake oil salesman, you couldn't help but wonder if it was a caricature. Of course, the multimillion dollar estate he built in Colorado indicated that there must have been enough suckers out there....
